A United Airlines passenger has recounted her experience of flying in a faulty Polaris seat with the Star Alliance carrier last October. Cathy purchased two business class (Polaris) seats to Beijing, but was forced to sit in a broken seat for the entire journey. The cost of this trip was $7,388 per ticket ($14,776 total), but Cathy was offered only $350 by the airline after complaining.
