One of the most notable planes that American Airlines is known for is its unique Airbus A321-200 subfleet, coded as the A321T. The T stands for Transcontinental, and these aircraft, of which there are only 15, are meant to operate American's most high-yielding transcontinental routes, from New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as from LAX to Boston.
