These aircraft remain some of the most complex and expensive machines ever built, and each one reflects decades of national doctrine, engineering investment, and operational experience. Although drones and hypersonic missiles increasingly shape modern doctrine, major air forces continue to rely on large bombers because of their flexibility and ability to carry heavy or oversized munitions across intercontinental distances.
