Emirates has become one of the biggest international airlines since it began operations in the mid-1980s. From its base in Dubai, it now serves destinations across almost every region of the world and relies on a fleet made up almost entirely of widebody aircraft. The airline is the largest operator of the Airbus A380 and one of the leading operators of the Boeing 777, both of which have been central to its expansion.
