Return To Damascus: Emirates Resumes Flights To Syrian Capital

Emirates yesterday officially returned to Damascus, putting the “City of Jasmine” back on its expansive network of Middle East destinations. The airline originally started service to Damascus in 1988, but was forced to suspend operations in 2012 due to the Syrian civil war. Flight EK913 arrived at Damascus International Airport on Wednesday at 14:30 with 286 passengers onboard, and was celebrated upon arrival with a traditional water cannon salute.
