United Airlines and Delta Air Lines have become the largest operators of the “flying pencil,” or Boeing 757 series of twin-engine jets. Since the end of the Coronavirus Pandemic, as the global aviation industry rebuilds, the 757 has been eclipsed by new aircraft models with higher fuel efficiency and newer technology. Delta currently has 16 in service, and United has 21, according to Cirium.com data.
