Let's be honest. There is a large school of fliers who downright refuse to drink airplane coffee, water, or tea, and for good reason. It's a well-known fact that the drinking water on planes used to make hot drinks is stored in large metal tanks, and pumped through small rubber and metal pipes, acquiring chemical tastes along the way. Disgusting, right? Just how safe is it to order a hot drink such as coffee on a plane? Can you even have a specialty beverage like an espresso?
