Electronic warfare, or EW, has gradually grown into a greater and greater focus of battlefield strategy since the evolution of industrialized military power. The Second World War saw a significant growth of tactics, strategy, equipment and troops dedicated to the battle of signals and electronic equipment. The Vietnam War however, with the advent of guided surface-to-air missiles and the US Air Force’s Wild Weasel counter-battery attack jets truly surged the field of electronic forward.
