As one the most recognized airlines in the US, Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines began operating jet-powered aircraft in 1959. Since then, the carrier has acquired several different plane types that have logged millions of miles throughout their tenure with the airline. While some aircraft were original Delta jets, others entered the fleet when the carrier merged with other airlines, expanding the fleet.
