The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is one of the strongest examples of American military power and remains one of the most immediately recognizable bombers globally. This long-range, eight-engined, strategic bomber has served the US Air Force since its introduction to service in 1955. Throughout its nearly ten-year production period, 744 examples of the type were produced, and it would go on to serve the Air Force throughout the Cold War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, and many other conflicts.
