The Bombardier CRJ900: A Brief History

The Bombardier CRJ900 can trace its origins all the way back to the Canadair Challenger business jet. In 1974, American inventor and businessman Bill Lear developed the LearStar 600, a low-wing business jet designed to fly long distances. Lear, however, needed more resources to manufacture the plane and sought the help of Canadian aerospace manufacturer Canadair.
