The Boeing 777-200LR ('long range') has a very high maximum take-off weight to enable the ultra-long non-stop routes for which it was designed. It entered service in 2006 and trades off passenger/freight payload for fuel capacity, which is partly why it has always been unpopular. It is the same for other niche aircraft, among them the A340-500.
