Los Angeles International Airport, commonly referred to as LAX (not just because of its IATA code), is among the busiest in the world. Last year, more than 60 million passengers flew through the Southern California airport, still 25% below its 2019 numbers. International carriers fly from five continents (North America is given) to Los Angeles, which was previously connected to Africa by Ethiopian Airlines, which flew from Lomé, Togo, for two months in 2019.
