Most people traveling to Taiwan will fly through Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), a major passenger and cargo facility about 40 km (25 mi) west of Taipei, the island’s capital. But one of the main reasons TPE was built was because a different airport servicing the city was too small to handle increasing traffic levels, Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA).
