Afghanistan announced the resumption of direct flights between Afghanistan and China earlier this week. The Afghan national flag carrier Ariana Afghan Airlines began the first weekly passenger flight from Kabul to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China.
