Continuous safety developments across a myriad of fields have seen plane crashes become far less frequent occurrences in recent decades. However, even though they used to happen more often, for three to occur in the same town in three months would have been unbelievable at any time. Despite this, just such a sequence of events befell the city of Elizabeth, New Jersey, back in the early 1950s.
