British Airways Boeing 787 Diverts To Halifax Amid Cabin Smoke

Fire is one of the most dangerous among all the critical scenarios that can occur onboard an aircraft. Fire can indeed compromise vital electronic components of an aircraft, ultimately leading to the plane becoming uncontrollable. Therefore, pilots generally request an emergency landing as soon as they suspect the potential development of a fire in the cabin. This was, for instance, the case of British Airways flight BA 216 en route from Washington Dulles (IAD) to London Heathrow (LHR) on February 1st.
