The last of Lufthansa's revenue-generating A300 flights occurred nearly 14 years ago, on July 1st, 2009. It followed a final flight from Rome Fiumicino back to the German giant's primary hub of Frankfurt. Then registered D-AIAM, that specific A300-600 is now 36 years old. Iran's ongoing sanctions mean that its airlines cannot really modernize fleets; such old and exciting aircraft continue, particularly significant for avgeeks.
