Swiss Air Airbus A330 Diverts To Manchester For Reported Medical Assistance

A Swiss International Air Lines flight from Zurich Airport (ZRH) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) was diverted to Manchester Airport (MAN) on Friday due to an alleged medical emergency. The flight departed from Zurich at 3:23pm Central European Time (CET) and was flying over the Atlantic Ocean (having already passed over the United Kingdom) on its way to New York when it turned around and headed back towards Manchester. The flight landed in Manchester at 7:45pm local time after approximately five hours in the air. The aircraft in question was an Airbus A330-300--one of 14 in the Swiss flag carrier's fleet.
