With Covid a thing of the past, exorbitant airfares are the only deterrent to millions of Australians traveling again. While high fuel costs are impacting fares, the basic issue is supply and demand. There is not enough capacity in the market to satisfy everyone who wants to travel, so airlines keep international and domestic fares at near-record levels.
