FAA Publishes Alaska GPS Routes For Pilots To Avoid Dangerous Conditions

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is working on publishing Global Positioning System (GPS) routes around the state of Alaska to help aviators navigate around the ice and mountains that the state is known for. The 30 new and 24 amended Terminal Transition Routes, known as T-routes, allow for Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flying, relying on onboard GPS equipment for safe aircraft navigation past Alaska’s many mountains.
