Maria Josep Colomer i Luque: The Story Of Spain's First Female Flight Instructor

Born on March 31, 1913, to a wealthy Barcelona family, Maria Josep Colomer i Luque, better known as Mari Pepa Colomer, was a pioneer of Spanish aviation. While growing up, Mari Pepa's father was friends with Pablo Picasso and Salvador DalĂ­ and often took her to bars to meet them. On the other hand, her mother was very strict, so her father had to tell her they were going for a walk and not meeting up with his artist friends in a bar.
