Australian National Airways (sometimes abbreviated to ANA) was Australia's main commercial airline from the 1930s to the 1950s. However, following the death of the airline's founder, Sir Ivan Holyman, the board of directors decided to sell the airline to Ansett Transport Industries, thereby forming Ansett-ANA on October 21st 1957.
