Why Are APD Taxes So High For UK Airline Passengers?

Airline passengers have been accustomed to paying taxes and charges that are included in the price of the ticket. Passengers flying from UK airports must also pay Air Passenger Duty (APD) and this results in the UK having some of the highest aviation taxes in the world.
