On This Day In 1983: Paris Orly Airport Suffers A Bomb Attack

At 14:10 on July 15, 1983, a piece of luggage exploded on the conveyer belt at the Turkish Airlines check-in counter at Orly Airport in Paris, France. Three people were instantly killed in the blast, and an additional five victims died in hospital. Approximately 56 others were wounded. French investigators ultimately discovered that the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) was responsible for the bombing.
