A few days after a Sri Lankan court prevented an Aeroflot aircraft from leaving Colombo, the Russian state-owned carrier has decided to suspend all flights to and from the South Asian country. The aircraft was denied permission to leave after Celestial Aviation Trading Limited, an Irish lessor, filed a complaint with the Colombo Commercial High Court. While the Russian side has issued strongly-worded statements calling for the release of the aircraft, Sri Lankan authorities are desperate to paint the matter as a commercial dispute between two parties.
