IndiGo Fined For Denying Boarding To a Special Needs Child

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has slapped a fine of Rs. Five Lakhs ($6,435) on IndiGo following an incident that occurred earlier this month at Ranchi Airport (IXR) in the Indian state of Jharkhand. One of IndiGo’s staff members denied boarding to a distressed adolescent passenger with special needs, saying he posed a risk to other passengers.
