After nearly a month of speculation surrounding the topic, young Italian airline ITA Airways finally acknowledged receiving an expression of interest to acquire a majority stake in the company from Germany’s Lufthansa Group and Swiss-Italian shipping corporation, the MSC Group. The announcement came in the form of a press release sent out by ITA’s corporate office in Rome.
