Air New Zealand Optimistic As It Posts A Substantial Half Yearly Loss

Air New Zealand has announced a statutory loss before taxation of US$254.6 million (NZ$376 million) for the six-month period ending 31 December 2021. This compares to a statutory loss before taxation of US$71.1 million for the same period last year. The airline's operating revenue was 9% lower than the prior period, driven by a 26% decline in passenger revenue due to the national alert level restrictions and 107-day Auckland lockdown.
