German startup airline Lubeck Air has big plans for the summer of 2022. Lubeck Air will not only add popular Mediterranean resort destinations to its route network but several new city destinations as well. Based at Lübeck Airport (LBC) on Germany’s Baltic coast, Lubeck Air works closely with Danish charter airline Air Alsie.
All Lubeck Airs’ flights are sold under the flight numbers of Air Alsie and operated using a 13-year-old ATR72-500 aircraft with the registration number D-ALBC. In its statement, Lubeck Air said that it planned to commence flying eight new routes to the summer holiday destinations in Corsica, Croatia, Jersey, Sardinia, and the Spanish Balearic Islands of Ibiza and Menorca. Together with the summer sun destinations, Lubeck Air will add the city’s of Bergen (Norway), Dublin (Ireland), and Krakow (Poland).
Lubeck Air is betting on a good summer
When speaking about the new routes, German language aviation website Aviation Direct quotes Lubeck Air Managing Director Jürgen Friedel as saying:
“We are pleased to be able to offer our passengers an expanded range of services from Lübeck for 2022, despite the challenges of the industry and the general situation. Our goal for 2022 is to convince many passengers of our exclusive tourist offer in addition to the regular guests we have already won. We are sure that after the long winter months, the summer perspective, with the beautiful new destinations that are unique for Lübeck, will be well received. When choosing another aircraft, as with our ATR 72-500, we rely on an economical aircraft that is in line with our environmentally conscious holistic service concept and offers an attractive product for our guests.”
