Canadian leisure airline Air Transat has announced that for summer 2022, it will operate more than 250 flights a week to 44 destinations. In a statement issued on November 11, 2021, the Montreal-based airline said it would gradually increase its number of flights to Europe, strengthen its position in the United States, and increase its domestic flight program.
Regarding flights from Canada to the United States, Air Transat says that it will fly to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for the first time. Additionally, Air Transat says it will increase the number of flights it operates between Canada and the Sunshine State of Florida.
Air Transat is expecting an increased demand
When speaking about the summer 2022 flight program and the enhanced services, Air Transat president and CEO Annick Guérard said:
“We are actively rebuilding our network with a modern and versatile fleet that will enable us to meet the increased demand expected in 2022. We will be returning to almost all of the destinations served before the pandemic, in addition to offering Canadian travelers major new destinations.”
From Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) Air Transat will offer seven direct flights per week to London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and 14 direct flights per week to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Air Transat also plans to restart flights from Canada to French regional destinations such as:
- Bordeaux Airport (BOD)
- Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS)
- Marseille Provence Airport (MRS)
- Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE)
- Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE)
- Toulouse–Blagnac Airport (TLS)
New route to Amsterdam and Quebec City to London
For summer 2022, a total of 19 European destinations will be served with direct flights from Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), including a new route to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) in the Netherlands. Air Transat says that it also plans to strengthen its position as the leading international carrier at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). For the first time, the carrier will offer non-stop flights from Quebec City to London and Paris.
From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Air Transat customers will have an additional 14 flights a week to London. Toronto customers will also have the option of flying to 13 other European destinations in Croatia, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Flights from Canada to the United States
From Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) Air Transat will begin flying to San Francisco twice a week and to Los Angeles three times per week. Regarding Florida flights, Air Transat will fly from Montreal to Miami year-round in addition to its flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando from Montreal and Toronto. Passengers flying from Quebec City will have the option of flying to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) year-round.
