As Hurrican Henri prepares to make landfall today, airlines have begun issuing emergency travel passengers. Much of the Northeast United States is covered by the advisory, giving passengers the option to cancel or rebook flights. The hurricane is expected to make landfall in New York before crossing Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, and possibly more areas. Here is an overview.
All advisories cover flights on 22nd and 23rd August as of now.
Ready
As the Northeast prepares for Hurricane Henri, airlines have sprung into action for affected passengers. Over the last day, carriers have begun issuing their usual travel waivers, which give passengers extra flexibility (even by pandemic standards) to shuffle their travel plans. The hurricane has been downgraded to a tropical storm but remains a threat to millions.

Passengers can rebook their flights any time before 26th August and avoid a fare difference on their route (in the same booking class). Rescheduling beyond 26th August will be allowed for up to one year from the flight, but passengers must pay any fare difference. Travelers can also request a refund for canceled flights. All of these conditions are only applicable on tickets booked on or before August 20th.
