Air Canada is ready to resume flights to Munich, Germany after the Canadian government announced it was reopening Canada’s borders to foreigners. The airline said today that it plans to restart non-stop flights between Toronto and Munich from September 8th.

Canadian border restrictions are beginning to relax, following on from the decision last month to allow entry to fully vaccinated Americans. Now from September 7th, fully vaccinated passengers from other countries will also be allowed in.

What are the restrictions?
Provided the current COVID-19 numbers remain low, the Canadian government plans to allow entry to anyone who has been fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arriving in Canada. Foreigners arriving in Canada must not show any symptoms of the virus and have proof of being fully immunized with one of the following vaccines:
- Pfizer-BioNTech (two doses)
- Moderna (two doses)
- AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (two doses)
- Janssen/Johnson and Johnson (one dose)

Unfortunately for Indians wishing to visit Canada, direct flights are suspended until at least September 21st. Those wishing to come to Canada via an indirect flight can do so but must show proof of a negative PCR or other molecular tests taken in a third country no more than 72 hours before arriving in Canada.
